Publishing houses can be awarded grants for translations and publication of works of fiction from one European language into another European language. Este año se entregará el 59,19% del dinero solicitado por los distintos agentes que trabajan a favor de la normalización del euskera, es decir, &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;3.258.163 euros&lt;/span&gt;. Mediante cuatro decretos forales, la Diputación ha admitido 303 proyectos de los 323 que se han presentado. Así mismo, a través del quinto decreto creado para ayudar a las entidades locales, se repartirán &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;2.340.610 euros&lt;/span&gt;. (Eurolang) reports from Brussels under the heading "&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;France: deputies vote for ‘regional’ language recognition amidst strong UN criticism&lt;/span&gt;".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.eurolang.net/index.php?option=com_content&amp;amp;task=view&amp;amp;id=3058&amp;amp;Itemid=0"&gt;http://www.eurolang.net/index.php?option=com_content&amp;amp;task=view&amp;amp;id=3058&amp;amp;Itemid=0&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The parliamentary initiative, plus the hammering the French state received in Geneva from the UN on May 16th, when the UN expert Committee on Economic, Cultural and Social Rights once again deplored "the lack of official recognition of minorities within the territory", as Davyth Hicks reports, might lead to substantial changes and make France's policies more in tune with virtually the whole of the rest of Europe.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;h4 class="copyright"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: normal;"&gt;The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights held its 40th session (28 April - 16 May 2008) in Geneva recently,  and studied France's Third Periodic report and the  observations made to it by a number of NGOs,  prominent among which were those representing  the lesser-used languages of France. It is in a position to work for the meaningful realisation of European cultural and linguistic diversity and equality of all European languages. Official working status at EU and member state level gives a language recognition, both legally and socially, and secures an important linguistic domain in terms of reversing language shift and ensuring linguistic rights. Organisations that depend on state funding for their existence and receive grants year after year, but for which there exist at least the theoretical possibility that they may fail to receive money one year are considered by the Commission as private bodies&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;) or private publishing houses or publishing groups;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style=";font-size:85%;" &gt;They must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5.2. Eligible countries&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Applicants must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme, as follows:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;European Union Member States (The 27 Member States of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom);&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway);&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;the candidate countries (Croatia and Turkey;
